IBM Guardium Administrator β Implementation
About This Role
The IBM Guardium Administrator will be responsible for managing and implementing Guardium solutions in production environments to ensure enterprise database security and compliance. This role involves installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Guardium appliances and agents, as well as integration with multiple database platforms. The candidate will collaborate with DBAs, application teams, and security operations to design and enforce data protection strategies, generate compliance reports, and maintain system health.
This position requires strong technical expertise in IBM Guardium, database activity monitoring, and IT security, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment supporting mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities

Administer and manage IBM Guardium environments (appliance, agents, collectors, aggregators)

Perform installation, configuration, and upgrades of Guardium in production environments

Implement policies, rules, and audit processes for database activity monitoring (DAM)

Monitor Guardium system health, performance, and logs to ensure compliance and availability

Conduct patch management, backup, and disaster recovery planning for Guardium appliances

Collaborate with DBAs and application teams to integrate Guardium with enterprise databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, MySQL, etc.)

Troubleshoot Guardium-related issues and provide L2/L3 support

Generate compliance and audit reports for regulatory standards (PCI-DSS, GDPR, HIPAA, SOX)

Work with security teams to design and enforce data protection strategies

Document processes, configurations, and operational procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

Hands-on experience with IBM Guardium administration and production implementation

Strong knowledge of database activity monitoring (DAM) concepts

Familiarity with database platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL)

Experience in Linux/Unix system administration

Knowledge of networking, firewalls, and security protocols

Understanding of compliance frameworks (PCI, GDPR, HIPAA, SOX)

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and documentation abilities

Certifications (IBM Guardium, CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent) preferred
